TŪ TONU HAUORA is a general practitioner medical centre driven to transform hauora standards and improve health services for Māori - and also other traditionally under-served groups including Pasifika, wāhine, rangatahi and kaumātua - within the Waikato region.

We believe we will achieve improved health and medical outcomes, and system transformation for all, through the provision of high quality, holistic healthcare services that are underpinned by mātāpono Māori(Māori values) and delivered in a culturally responsive way - that being through the lens and integration of kawa and tikanga Māori.

Ka rere arorangi ngā whakamoemiti ki te Runga Rawa, nāna te kākano o tēnei whare i whakatō i tōna whenua haumako kia tupu, kia puāwai.

Ko ngā pakiaka o te whare ko ngā iwi maha o Tainui waka, ko rātou te ahi kā roa e pupuru tonu nei i te mauri o te whenua.

Ko te pūmanawa o te whare, ko ngā whānau katoa e kuhu mai nei, e whakahihiko nei i a ia.

Ko ngā wai o roto, ko ngā tini awa o ngā mātāwaka e rere mai nei, e kōkiri nei i tōna kaupapa.

Ko te kaupapa he mahi tahi, he kāpui, he tuitui i ngā whakaaro o ngā tūpuna, o tauiwi hoki, hei hāpai i ngā iwi, i ngā hapū maha, kia whai oranga, kia TŪ TONU HAUORA i tēnei ao hurihuri.

Thanks and praise ascend heavenward to our creator, from which the seed of this house is sown in rich and fertile lands to grow and prosper.

The backbone of this house is the many offspring of Tainui Waka - the fore bearers and continuous occupants who hold the lifeforce essence of this land.

The heart of this house is the family communities who come here and breathe life into its very being.

The waters within are the many rivers from multiple waka that flow here and champion its purpose.

Its purpose is to work as one, bind as one, weave together all ancestral philosophy - including that of our non-Māori community - to uplift iwi and hapū to achieving wellness, to keep standing in this ever-changing world.
